About The Ford Escape Plug-In Hybrid

The Ford Escape has always been a popular choice of compact SUV, but the Escape Plug-In Hybrid adds a new dimension that only makes the popular SUV even more likable. The PHEV drivetrain produces an impressive 210 horsepower, yet also delivers a staggering combined fuel economy rating of 101 MPGe. The 11.2 kWh battery pack is good for 37 miles of all-electric driving, enough that most buyers would be able to make their daily commute without using any gasoline at all. This on top of everything you already liked about the Escape, things like the advanced SYNC® 4 infotainment system, which comes with a 13.2-inch touchscreen and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility.

What the Critics Say

“In the highly competitive crossover SUV segment, the 2024 Ford Escape PHEV stands out with a substantial all-electric range and impressive interior technology.” - Forbes

“The Ford Escape Plug-In Hybrid is perfect for daily driving around town without using a sip of gasoline. This compact SUV is also quite comfortable, spacious and loaded with modern tech features.” - Edmunds

What’s New in the 2024

Following a redesign last year, the Escape Plug-In Hybrid carries over essentially unchanged for 2024. It remains a standout in a market where most PHEV vehicles cost twice as much as the Escape.

Ford Escape Plug-In Hybrid Features

Unmatched Efficiency

There are two really appealing features of plug-in hybrids, power and efficiency, and the Escape Plug-In Hybrid delivers on both. With a combined system rating of 210 horsepower, the PHEV drivetrain delivers more power than either the standard 1.5-liter gasoline engine or the conventional hybrid option. And while both of those other options are also quite efficient, they’re no match for the 101 MPGe rating that comes with the Plug-In Hybrid. On top of that, the Escape Plug-In Hybrid is capable of an estimated 37 miles of all-electric driving. All of this makes the Escape Plug-In Hybrid a superior choice for a daily driver, a highly practical vehicle that will seriously cut down on your fuel costs. You can even charge it from a regular 120V outlet with the included Level 1 Mobile Power Cord.

Versatile Practicality

A truly great daily driver needs more than just good fuel economy, even if it is exceptionally good fuel economy. You need to be able to use it for a wide variety of daily tasks, and the ease with which the Escape Plug-In Hybrid handles whatever you throw at it is why it’s such a popular choice. You’ll find an impressive 34.4 cubic feet of cargo space when you open the power liftgate, and if you fold down the back seats, that increases to 60.8 cubic feet. Up front, you’ll find lots of cubbies and compartments, including dedicated storage for sunglasses, and a total of 8 cupholders. There are four charging ports, as well as an available wireless charging pad, so your other devices can go all day too. And the available 360-degree camera with Split View makes maneuvering through parking lots easy. There’s even available Active Park Assist 2.0, so you don’t have to worry about parking at all.

Comfortable Interior

The Escape offers one more thing that makes it great for whatever you need to do, it’s a comfortable place to be. The seats are comfortable, with heated front seats coming standard, and leather upholstery is available to go with it. Dual-zone climate control and a heated steering wheel come standard as well, so maintaining a comfortable temperature is easy. All of this partners with the Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go, Lane Centering and Speed Sign Recognition to reduce driving fatigue, and help you arrive at your destination feeling relaxed and ready to tackle whatever the day holds. The SYNC® 4 infotainment system with a 13.2" touchscreen comes standard, and makes it easy to see directions while navigating. It’s also great for playing music, and the available 10-speaker B&O® Sound System by Bang & Olufsen® makes it sound great.
